I love the “Buy it now” option on eBay. Their auctions are great because there is a chance that you can get an amazing deal, but the anxiety of bidding wears me out – Did I bid enough? Did I bid too much? Where am I going to be when this auction is ending so I can get my last minute bid in? With “Buy it now,” I click what I want to pay and the item is mine…no mess, no fuss. It is simple and transactional. You pay this, you get that.
Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

I am drawn to passages like this because they present a spiritual truth in such a simple and straightforward way. If you want a prosperous life that is consistently bearing fruit, spend time in God’s word. Read it. Think about it. Write it down. Apply it to your life. It’s the “Buy it now” price to having the permanent blessing of God.
