Why You keep Becoming the Same Person

What do you do when you keep trying to change, but the same version of you keeps showing up?

Most of us have something about ourselves we keep trying to fix. We want to be healthier, less anxious, more disciplined, or more spiritually alive. So you try harder. You download the app. You change the routine. You tell yourself this time will be different.

And for a while, maybe it is. But then the same habits come back, the same insecurities show up, and you see the same old version of you when you look in the mirror. When that happens it can make us wonder if change is even possible, or if this is just who you will always be.

Acts 6 tells the story of Stephen, someone easy to overlook whose life began to look strangely like Jesus. His story raises a question that cuts deeper than self-improvement: what if the change you are looking for is not about becoming a better version of yourself, but becoming the person you were made to be?

For anyone who feels stuck, tired, ashamed, or frustrated by the same patterns coming back, there may be a deeper kind of change than you thought.
