For two thousand years of church history, Jesus has been known as the Messiah, the world’s savior. This is a big statement that has universal implications for everyone. When Jesus confirmed this claim he was taking as stand against empire and legalism and declaring the entry of the new Kingdom of God in our world. That’s big stuff.
