The Bible is rich and complex. It’s a collection of 66 books written by around 40 authors over the course of 1,500 years. It comprises different genres including history, poetry, personal letters, apocalyptic literature, and philosophy. It can also be a mystical, spiritual, and often mysterious book with parts that are difficult to understand, no matter how much education you have. Reading the Bible has a way of speaking to us in our circumstances. But what one passage says to one person may be different than what it says to another. When we can all have different takeaways, how do we know what the Bible is really saying?
