When People Are Dangerous
When People Are Dangerous
How Should Christians Respond to Dangerous People?
Some people are genuinely unsafe. They manipulate, intimidate, and leave real damage behind. Sometimes it’s easy to see. Other times, they’re charming and respected, and the people they hurt are left wondering why no one else seems to notice.
What do you do when someone has already proven they aren’t safe? Do you forgive them, trust them, or keep your distance? What if they apologize, say they’ve changed, or want another chance? And how do you protect yourself without letting fear, anger, or revenge change you too?
We’re often handed shallow choices: forgive and forget, or cut someone off forever. Trust their apology, or assume they’ll never change. Real life rarely fits into categories that clean. Words like forgiveness, trust, and redemption become much harder when they’re attached to someone who has actually hurt you.
So what does following Jesus look like when the person who needs grace is also the person you need protection from?
