What happens when you want to belong but aren’t sure you’re allowed to?

A lot of people feel like there’s a line between them and God that they can’t cross. No matter how hard they try to close the gap, they can feel close to God and far away at the same time. Maybe the message you’ve heard is that there’s something about you that keeps you on the outside. You can come this far, but no farther.

At the heart of that feeling is one question: Is there room for me?

Acts 8 tells the story of someone who had every reason to ask that question. Someone who was searching for God, but who didn’t fit neatly into the religious world around him. But what if the very differences that made him wonder if he belonged weren’t enough to stop God from moving toward him?
