How to follow Jesus in a world that's not black and white.
People like it when things are black and white. Whether it’s sports or politics, we want to know who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. We want to know who’s right and who’s wrong. This is particularly true in religion, where any gray areas can complicate our simple faith. When it comes to believing in God, there is a tendency to think we have to believe everything or nothing. These extremes drive us to a faith of either naive belief or outright cynicism. But does it have to be this way? Is there a path to following Jesus that allows for both nuance and true belief?
